Welcome to Olosauna to spend Vappu (May Day) Eve enjoying atmospheric music by two duos from Oulu! Expect intimate, life-inspired stories and interpretations, strong vocal harmonies, and a close, present atmosphere with a touch of special Vappu (May Day) spirit.
Peltokurki and Valona are both singer-songwriter duos whose core lies in strong vocal harmonies and the power of the singer-songwriter tradition. The concert will feature both Peltokurki’s and Valona’s original music, as well as special joint versions where harmonies and vocal power are doubled.
PELTOKURKI
Peltokurki is a northern duo formed by songwriters Anna Peltomaa and Emma Kurkinen. Their strong vocal harmonies, powerful presence, and emotionally deep lyrics have captivated audiences. In their music, sensitivity and strength find a balance that deeply moves listeners both on record and live.
Peltokurki’s debut album (Peltokurki I, 2021) received praise for its tradition-aware songwriting and folk-influenced pop expression. The duo’s second studio album Kohti ja kauemmaksi (released by Northern Flame Music) came out on April 4, 2025, bringing the band to greater prominence in the Finnish music scene. Two singles from the album were featured on YLE Radio Suomi playlists, and in January 2025 Peltokurki was recognized in Teosto’s “Uudet Soundit” campaign as one of Finland’s most promising emerging artists.
VALONA
Valona is a singer-songwriter duo formed by twin sisters Sanni and Heidi Inget. Their music features folk influences and fresh, bright vocal harmonies. Sanni and Heidi also perform actively as the band Hymyhuulet, creating unforgettable musical experiences for various celebrations and events. The duo is currently working on Valona’s debut album.
